EUDR
Our partner, Précon Consulting Group B.V., helps organizations comply with EUDR regulations step by step.
The EUDR has been formally adopted and remains in force, but the European Parliament formally approved a postponement and relaxation of the requirements on December 17, 2025, by a large majority. This means that the requirements will take effect on December 30, 2026, for large companies and from June 30, 2027, for SMEs. Furthermore, countries have now been classified as low, standard, or high risk. For low-risk countries, the focus is primarily on being able to demonstrate traceability and origin, without a comprehensive risk analysis. The focus will also be on the first party to market the products in Europe or the first to export from Europe. For companies further down the supply chain, the obligation will be reduced to a mere information requirement.
Even though the pressure is off for now, we recommend that your clients start preparing now, as this is quite complex legislation that requires a great deal of information and evidence. Moreover, the EUDR’s predecessor, the EUTR, has been in force since 2013.
We can support your customers with the implementation of the EUDR in the following ways:
Our offer in brief
- Customized support: full support, including preparing and uploading DDS declarations in TRACES and processing all data. If the project involves a large number of suppliers or products, we offer consultancy services in conjunction with the software tool from our partner Coolset. o Analyze whether your products are covered by the EUDR
o Determine your role (economic operator or trader) and the associated obligations
o Develop an implementation plan with a realistic timeline
o Prepare supplier questionnaires
o Support in communicating with suppliers and assessing the information received
o Set up the due diligence system, including risk assessment
o Prepare for the EUDR information system (TRACES) - Assistance with implementing the EUTR (predecessor to the EUDR) for wood and paper
- EUDR Training & Toolbox, for a clear overview of obligations and practical tools and documents needed to get started yourself
- Ad hoc consultation with one of our EUDR experts on substantive questions
- Attend a classroom training session on the EUTR and EUDR. This can be done upon request as an internal training, but there will also be two regular training days this year at our office in Bunnik for which customers can register. These dates are yet to be announced, but they will be included on our Training Calendar.
